Kirk's birthday was great. He is a great guy. I was overwhelmed by all of the people that came to celebrate with him. Maybe when I have my 50th (in a few years) he will come to my party. :o)

Janet Paschal is in Nashville - in the studio - working on a new project. The new project is a collection of some of her most requested older songs - some from more than twenty years ago, of which she will also have tracks available. The project being produced by Wayne Haun is called TREASURES and it will release in conjunction with a new book titled TREASURES OF THE SNOW. They’ll be available this fall. These are just rough cuts of the songs but they are produced well enough to preview the song. This past week The Talley Trio just began working on a new recording! YOU are invited to help them with the project! On the Tree-O site they will post clips of each song and the lyrics. You can read the lyrics, watch the video clip of them in the studio arranging and recording the song, and then you are invited to post your comments and tell them what you think. YOU will be the first to hear anything from the new project and your opinions will help them produce a recording that you will love. "So how do I do this?" you ask. It's very simple. Jake Hess Tribute Concert Civic Center Arena Columbus, Georgia October 9, 2008 Dear Friends, There are a lot of pioneer artists who have made a major impact on all of our lives, and if there was a list of the top 10 most influential pioneers in gospel music, the name Jake Hess would certainly be on it. The impact he made on the music industry - and on so many individual lives - is truly immeasurable. I thought it would be fitting to honor the life of this dear man when we come to Columbus, where he spent the last 15 years of his life and near the place where his body rests. I know there will be interest all over the country from folks who want to be a part of this special tribute, so I hope you will start making plans to attend. We have invited a great line-up of artists for this celebration, including: The Gaither Vocal Band, Janet Paschal, Taranda Greene, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Ivan Parker, Karen Peck and New River, Jeff and Sheri Easter, Gordon Mote, Kevin Williams, and all of Jake's kids...
