Kirk's birthday was great. He is a great guy. I was overwhelmed by all of the people that came to celebrate with him. Maybe when I have my 50th (in a few years) he will come to my party. :o)
Glad you had a happy 50th B-day! I was 50 yesterday, and today, I'm 68! Time really moves along, doesn't it? Enjoy everyday..and "don't sweat the small stuff".....or the small people.
Love, Ruthie

Kirk Talley Celebrates 50th Birthday With Surprise

Posted on 06/10 at 02:03 PM

Dot Shultz and Tony Gore surprised Kirk Talley with a surprise 50th Birthday Party.

"Last night was wonderful. I was scheduled to help Tony at the Restaurant, but when I arrived, there were black balloons, and 50th Birthday decorations everywhere . I walked in and there were tables and chairs in places where they have never been before. Dot was smiling proudly so I just began to laugh. Friends started pouring into the restaurant and in a matter of minutes, it was filled to capacity. Over one hundred people filled the restaurant, so needless to say.....I went to work! We were carrying ribs and pork and banana pudding and sweet lemon pie to everyone. Friends from Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and of course Tennessee, sure made the night a lot of fun. The Galloways, Lulu Roman, Connie Hopper, Landon Beene of the Beenes, The Talley Trio, Tim Owen of the Testimony Qt, Randall Hunley, Jordan Amburn, and of course Tony Gore, completed the list of Artists who were there. Cards and gifts were stacked up by the door, and the party was ON. We laughed and ate and sang and laughed a lot more, turned some "non party" patrons away (Sorry Tony). Later in the night, I was blindfolded and slowly walked and sat down in the most amazing gift! Dot had organized ( she should run for public office) the Krew and you guys and gals went together and got me the best gift ever, a massage chair! They plugged it up and brought it in the door and when I sat down in it, still blindfolded, it began doing it's thing! Up and down my back, my feet, my neck, my arms......I didn't want to get up!!! I just sat there and enjoyed it for a while! I LOVE IT.

Of course, I got a lot of "old people products"......everything from Geritol to reading glasses, (which I already have).... a jug of syrup, and then some other great gifts too. Shirts, Ties, gift cards, cash, checks, picture frames, chocolates, all kinds of things......Man, oh man, I was like a kid at Christmas.

Let me say, THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart. It was a great night that I will always remember. Thanks to all the Krew members who pitched in and made the massage chair possible! I will use it every night. As a matter of fact....Pastor Joe Copolo helped me unload it and set it up at my house, and I sat in it for about 30 minutes before I went to bed last night. Thank you to everyone who sent cards and gifts.....I am amazed...It took me 30 minutes to open all the cards......that's not a complaint!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH'

Nashville, TN (6-5-08) -- Gaither Television Productions has received two Communicator Awards of Excellence, the highest honor bestowed by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. Southern Gospel Video Creates a Nationwide Stir

On May 13th the latest video of Lewis and Lewis, "Come On Down To The Farm," officially landed on YouTube.com. In 21 days the video has been viewed more than 415,000 times. After the first eleven days, Lewis and Lewis were contacted for a major appearance on a Morning Show in the Atlanta market June 24th where a potential new audience of 30 million viewers will be exposed to Southern Gospel music and this song. “

Dale Duhl, a proponent and producer of music videos has long said, “"If videos were made with a more entertaining angle instead of the typical Live style that seems to be the mainstay, a new audience could be reached. We need to use videos as a marketing tool, not just another item to sell on the record table."” He went on to say, 'If Gospel artists and labels would utilize the resources that the web has to offer, we would be amazed of the new heights that could be reached.”"

Dale Duhl is the co-founder of Three Hills Music and the owner of Beyond L 7 Enterprises, a video marketing company, that has in recent years produced visual marketing tools for several Fortune 500 Companies, as well as many national Trade Organizations. Dove Brothers Increase ONLINE/MAIL ORDER Prices Only

Posted on 05/30 at 12:25 PM

Straight from the Office of the Dove Brothers:

Since we released our pricing changes. Some were concerned about how it would effect merchandise pricing at concerts. This pricing is for our online store ONLY! Due to shipping costs as well as the handling charges, we are having to raise our prices to compensate for this. This does NOT effect concert merchandise. These are seperate departments for us. Sorry if there was any confusion about this.

Now, we have just received word from our record company that we can now release our entire recording catalog through our digital downloads store. That's right! Soon you will be able to purchase and download Life, Never The Same, Anything But Ordinary or down to the first recording done through Crossroads Music. You can buy one song or purchase the whole album! Mix and match songs that you want on your very own Dove Brothers recording. All of your favorite songs downloadable for you to make your own Dove Brothers favorites CD!

Also, we are working on some great deals that you can only get through our online store and we will have more on that once they are finalized! So be looking out for these things to come in the near future!

Come On Down To The Farm

Posted on 05/21 at 01:22 PM

On Tuesday evening, May 13th, the music video, "Come On Down To The Farm" hit both YouTube and GodTube on the internet. The song has literally exploded with over fifteen thousand hits within the first seven days.

Written by Rick Wingerter and performed by Lewis & Lewis, the song is a light-hearted, humorous look at the serious social problems of homosexually and same-sex marriage. The timing could not have been more perfect for the duo since the video went up on the web two days before the landmark ruling by California's Supreme Court overturning a law which prohibited same-sex marriage in that state.

The song is obviously being applauded by the conservative church-world while drawing fire from gay rights activists. One thing is sure, "Farm" is reaching new audiences heretofore inaccessible to gospel music and Lewis & Lewis are making a multitude of new friends (and a few enemies) for their uncompromising stand.

Lewis & Lewis can be contacted at . Their website address is http://www.lewisandlewis.org
