This song was not written with a hateful heart but out of compassion for Souls. Everyone needs to make thier own choice this song was written to shine light on a truth that is clearly covered in Gods word.

Lewis and Lewis you know this will certainly cause the GLBT community to feel welcome to the Christian community...NOT...this sort of hatred will continue causing them to be pushed out...this is pure ignorance...i think your time would be better spent by singing about the salvation, love and forgiveness Jesus offers…

The Florida Boys. . .Different Group, Same Sound, Same Style, Same Classic Performance?Posted on Mar 31, 2008 - 03:25 PM
It was just a little over 6 months ago that Les, Glen, and Derrell handed the name Florida Boys over to Charlie Waller. Charlie has stated, "The only way you can become a Florida Boy is for Les, Glen, and Derrell to make it happen." The "new" Florida Boys made their very first appearance last night before a sold-out crowd near Rainsville, Alabama. In fact, there almost were more tickets made than the building could hold. Tables and various props were removed to make way for more chairs and the building was packed with gospel quartet fans eager to see the new lineup. I guess you would have had to have been there to see that the legacy of the Florida Boys is in good hands. Charlie Waller, Buddy Burton, Dustin Bearden, Chip Cooper, and Joshua Pope gave a fantastic performance of Florida Boys classics from days gone by, given a little of that "Waller-style" flare. Read the rest of this bloggers account of the evening. Neither were part of the group when they officially left the road in July of 07. Josh was given the chance to sing with the new lineup but he decided he wanted to do solo work. The group continues with the approval of Les, Glen, and Derrell themselves. You evidently were not in the audience at Alabama for their debut, so therefore you really have no legitimate evidence of which to criticize the group you haven't had the chance to see or hear yet. When their website and schedule is placed online (which should be soon, currently under construction... http://www.thefloridaboys.net), check to see when they will be in your area. Go watch their performance and get back with me. Page 1 of 1 Comment Pages |

Congratulations to the new Fla Boys. I am sorry I was unable to be there due to illness. I had been looking forward to this night for a long time. Sorry fellows. I would have enjoyed the visit and music. It took a lot of nerve to use a name such as I have known this class act for a long time. The five men who are the new Fla Boys are the ones I would have chosen to pull this off. They will be a great success. Les, Glen and Darrell have to be proud of the continuation of the legacy started by them. Many of my friends were there and said it was awesome and they know what they are talking about. Keep it up.
Love you guys and look forward to seeing all of you at the grand ole gospel reunion in August.
Your friend,
Dwight
