The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd; indeed in view of the silliness of the majority of mankind, a widespread belief is more likely to be foolish than sensible.

The Gaither Vocal Band’s April 15 release, Lovin’ Life is now on presale!Posted on Feb 29, 2008 - 06:58 PM
![]() Marsh Hall: "I think you go into each new project with some level of excitement - I came into this one with a little trepidation. I thought it would be very hard to come up with a group of songs as strong as we had on Give It Away - honestly, we still haven't even sung in concert some of my favorites off of that album. So, would we be able to come up with as strong a line-up of songs? Yes! Thank You, God, for being so gracious to us with words to sing. I'm more excited about this record than Give It Away - I think it could be the best music we've put down to tape (or hard drive). "I had such a good time recording this album. I could spend all day everyday making music in the studio with these guys. Bill is a kid in a candy store when we're recording, and he's the biggest cheerleader of the bunch. We decided to record all of our vocal parts up in Alexandria, Indiana, at Bill's studio instead of in Nashville like we usually do - it was fantastic. We would sing until we got hungry and then walk over to Gloria's little café and fill up, then walk back to "work" and sing until it was time to go to bed. It was a very tiring and very exhilarating week. "Wait 'til you hear "Jesus and John Wayne" - it's the coolest tune, and Guy just lays it in there nice and easy." Guy Penrod: "Jesus and John Wayne" is definitely a great fit for me because it described where most of live everyday! I love the chance to revert to my country roots on this one. "I love how this whole project is loaded with hope. We all need truths to hang on to that give us perspective on our lives. This collection of songs contains some great ideas that touch on themes that affect us all, and I believe these ideas are wrapped up in enjoyable, compelling music that will draw people in." Wes Hampton: I love this new CD. Our previous recording, Give It Away, will always hold a special place in my heart, just because it was my first GVB recording, plus it's just a great album, period. I am extremely proud of it. I don't want to turn this into a comparison between these two records, but I will explore this just for a moment! As much as I loved Give It Away, I believe Lovin' Life is a better record and I think the GVB sounds better on it! We have had a few years to gel and to find our groove as a group, and I believe that really comes through on this new CD. Like all GVB recordings, Lovin' Life offers a broad range of songs stylistically, ranging from country to inspirational to worship to mainstream. There are some really great songs, many of which are new, and some of which are older Gaither Trio songs that we have recreated. We had to re-record one more Imperials' song, "I'm Forgiven," just because they had so many wonderful songs to choose from, many of which we all grew up listening to. Marshall has written a song that we recorded on this CD called, "When I Cry," which he co-wrote with Benjy [Gaither] years ago. It is one of my favorites. A few other favorites of mine are "Go Ask," "Prisoner of Hope," and "There is Always a Place at the Table." The process of making this record was a blast, just like it was with Give it Away. This is only the second GVB record ever (Give it Away was the first) that lists the producers as the GVB. I love that we all were very much involved from the start. We all love the recording process and we enjoy seeing something evolve from just an idea on paper to something that can be used to affect lives, either on a serious note or a more fun, light-hearted note. I love the fact that we all help produce each other. Bill calls this style of producing "by committee." I think it's a great way to produce...in fact, to me, it's the ONLY way to produce a GVB record! I hope people enjoy it as much as we already have. We are excited about getting out there and singing and sharing these new songs with the people we love. Bill Gaither:"We have really tapped into the wonderful talents of Marsh and Wes on this project... and they are singing better than ever. I think you will know exactly what I mean when you hear Marsh sing "Home of your Dreams" and "When I Cry" - and when you hear Wes sing "There's Always Room At the Table" and "The Difference is in Me." Of course, everyone knows and loves Guy, and he really comes through on songs like "Prisoner of Hope" and we've finally let our cowboy do his thing on "Jesus and John Wayne" and it's great. It has been wonderful to hear all the guys come together at their very best. The harmonies are tighter than ever and the musicianship, led by Gordon Mote, has created tracks that are second to none!"
